National Latino Writers Conference

The National Hispanic Cultural Center celebrated the 10 National Latino Writers Conference this month. It was my first time attending!

The conference boasted many talented writers,

a wonderful line-up of agents and editors,

and amazing authors including Cristina Garcia, Tim Hernandez, Alisa Valdes, Rigoberto Gonzalez, and Jimmy Santiago Baca. Lucrecia Guerrero was awarded the Premio Atzlan for her book Tree of Sighs.

I was there in my capacity as an editor, meeting with writers one-on-one to discuss their projects.

I also got to see a little of beautiful Albuquerque while I was in town.

It was such a talented and welcoming group of people.

If you’ve never attended, make plans for next year!
